New Philips TVs & Entertainment Products

Sense and Simplicity on the large.

The flagship product of this CES is the Philips 52PFL7603D LCD TV, also known as the Ultimate Dream TV. It is packed with new technology including 120Hz ClearLCD technology, HD Digital Natural Motion, Motion Estimation Motion Compensation, Pixel Plus 3HD, WOOx audio, HDMI 1.3a and the latest Ambilight. At the bottom, you'll notice how the new HTS-series Ambisound home theater system.

The rest of the 7000-series will feature 42, 47 and 52-inch TVs. However, there are two sub-series as well. The 7600 models will support everything listed above while the 7400 models forego the Ambilight feature. While other sizes in both series are expected to be released around the March to April timeframe with price tags of US$1700-$2000, the 52-inch models for the 7403 and 7603 series are expected to become available in May 2008 and cost US$2699-2799.

The 5000-series range will come in smaller sizes and reduced features compared to the 7000-series.

Philips will also be launching entry level 3000-series of their Designer Collection soon.

A little comparison of the new 7000-series LCD (top) against last year's model (bottom). Now if you can look through the resizing and compression, the colors are actually more vibrant there.

Philips last showed their work-in-progress 3D display solutions at IFA last year and in this CES, we had a treat to a huge 132-inch 'WOWzone'. Consisting of nine 42-inch WOWvx 3D displays, this was an exhibition of the current state of this technology. Unlike traditional 3D display that either require stereoscopic or polarized 3D glasses, Philips 3D solution display offer 3D without the need of any other visual aid. Of course, you have to be there to see it since a 2D digital image will not do WOWzone any justice.

Here's a close-up of the Philips 42-inch WOWvx 3D display and we must add that it was too irresistible to not watch. Philips intends to promote its 3D WOWzone to marketers for them to create breathtaking 3D experiences for events, exhibitions and theme parks. Truly, the best 3D display effort so far in our opinion.

The Philips Streamium WACS7500 hub and media extenders let you stream your music in any room of your house and supports up to five independent streams vie the WAS7500 stations (pictured at the rear in this photo).

The Streamium NP1100 is the first device launched that will feature the new Rhapsody content support. It features a black and white display, Internet radio connectivity and streaming from other PCs on the same Wi-Fi network.

Another look at the new Design Collection BTM630 Bluetooth Wireless Entertainment system. With the BTM630, you can listen to music via multiple sources including Bluetooth, iPod, CD, radio, USB and SD card. It offers one touch MP3 recording and acts as a hands-free speakerphone for incoming mobile calls if you're connected via Bluetooth.
