Google recently removed two applications from Android Market due to violations of the Developer Distribution Agreement and possibly Content Policy. But did you know that the Internet giant is also capable of removing said applications from your Android device via a remote kill switch?
According to Google, this remote removal functionality is designed first and foremost to protect Android users from malicious applications, to the point where such application could be swiftly removed to prevent a mass-scale circulation.
"While we hope to not have to use it, we know that we have the capability to take swift action on behalf of users' safety when needed," said Rich Cannings, Android Security Lead.
Well, so long as it's all in the interest of security, right?
