High-speed Wireless Networking With Secure Double-layer Authentication
Featuring an increased speed of up to 150Mbps and better range coverage, the DIR-600 enjoys a wireless speed that is double that of the 802.11g standard, when used with a 802.11n or higher wireless card. Windows 7 certified, the DIR-600 is also the first router on the market to feature a double-layer authentication for added security. Besides the required user identification and password during log-ins, the DIR-600 incorporates the ‘CAPTCHA’ random graphical authentication method to prevent any unauthorized router access or malicious attacks. This ensures that the log-in requests are genuine, and not initiated by hackers’ computers.
DIR-600’s other security features include a built-in firewall that safeguards the network from harmful attacks by minimizing the threats of hackers and intruders, the Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall analyses network traffic, and parental control that prevents users from viewing inappropriate content.

At an affordable price of $89, the DIR-600 protects against the future with its Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) readiness. The next generation Internet Layer protocol for the Internet, IPv6 is the successor to IPv4, which is nearing address exhaustion. IPv6 has a much larger address space, providing flexibility in allocating addresses and routing traffic.
For connecting multiple users to the Internet by sharing a single IP address, the DIR-600 also features Network Address Translation (NAT). The integrated 4-port 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet switch also gives the added flexibility to connect wired computers to the network.
Environment Friendly Features In A Single Device
Certified D-Link Green, the DIR-600 comes equipped with D-Link’s Green technology to help it conserve energy. This proprietary technology automatically recognizes port activity and cable length in order to adjust power usage. The WLAN Scheduler function automatically shuts down WLAN according to a schedule defined by the user. This not only saves power, but also enhances security as the router access by external sources is minimized. Besides these energy-saving technologies, the DIR-600 also complies with green initiatives such as WEEE, RoHS and Energy Star, and uses D-Link’s eco-friendly sustainable packaging, such as a sleeveless design and soy ink.

The DIR-600 provides a high speed connection to other D-Link Wireless 150 or 802.11n devices and is backward compatible with 802.11b/g, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of wireless devices.
